Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RF Product Manager to join an innovative engineering and technology business operating within the defence sector.

This newly created position will take ownership of the commercial development and positioning of a portfolio of technology products within the defence sector.

Working closely with Sales, Engineering and Technical leadership, you will identify customer requirements and market opportunities, develop product strategies and roadmaps, and ensure products are aligned with both customer demand and wider business objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced defence product professional to play a key role in the development of a growing product portfolio and help shape the organisation's approach to product management.

Key Responsibilities:
Own the commercial viability and development strategy of products across relevant defence markets
Identify target markets, customer segments and priority accounts in line with the wider go-to-market strategy
Conduct market and competitor analysis, product horizon scanning and relevant regulatory and IP reviews
Develop Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) and customer use-case documentation
Define product vision, strategy and roadmaps, prioritising features and specifications based on commercial value and technical considerations
Develop business cases for internal research and development investment
Support product pricing strategy and commercial positioning
Produce and maintain product data sheets, specifications and supporting documentation
Define product positioning and differentiation against competing solutions
Lead customer discovery activities, including customer interviews, industry events and trade shows
Translate customer requirements and pain points into commercially meaningful product requirements
Develop customer-facing value propositions and messaging alongside Sales and Marketing
Build and maintain relationships with strategic customers and partners
Identify opportunities for externally funded or co-funded capability development
Balance bespoke customer requirements with scalable, longer-term product strategy
Work with technical leadership to align product strategy with technology roadmaps and future capability investments
Provide market feedback on emerging customer requirements, technology gaps and new opportunities
Support the continued development of product management frameworks, processes and governance within the businessRequirements:
Proven track record in product management within the defence industry, ideally with around 10 years' relevant experience
Strong understanding of the defence technology market and experience working with technically complex products
Strong commercial and strategic product management experience
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with engineering, sales, marketing and customers
Sufficient technical understanding to engage confidently with engineering teams and technically capable customers
Experience translating customer requirements and market intelligence into product strategy
Strong understanding of product positioning, market analysis and competitive differentiation
Ability to manage technical and commercial trade-offs effectively
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
