The role:

The role: The Product Manager is responsible for the product lifecycle management of Saab Seaeye's latest electric work class vehicle - eWROV, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product roadmap & vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, BD, marketing, the PMO and product support to ensure revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

Research customer current opinions and future requirements, industry trends, directly and via the sales and business development team

Define and progress the eWROV product roadmap ensuring alignment with the technology roadmap

Define high level requirements for the product and the associated supporting equipment - working with the supply chain for new purchases, partnerships & providing signed off requirements to engineering teams

Articulate the business value of the product family to the organisation

Articulate developments required to be undertaken to executives and other stakeholders with estimated budgets, timelines and resource requirements

Continually prioritise developments according to ROI, budgets, resources and timelines as well as customer priorities providing they suit the roadmap

Participate in and execute the "Product Life Cycle Management" (PLCM) process

Create product and capability plans

Participate in the customer solutions process, in particular during the winning business and sales handover phase ensuring that requirements are documented and appropriate technical solutions are proposed

Ensure alignment and suitability of master quotations, master BoMs, training material, manuals and sales material for standard system configurations and specials

Assess demands for non-standard ROV or product configurations based on value, risk, complexity, strategic importance and the roadmap

Assist engineering & the PMO in the estimation of development lead times for new business

Assist the Configuration Management Engineer to create BOMs and configuration diagrams for customer solutions projects, owning the standard product configuration and BOM as well as describing variations

Sign off internal Factory Acceptance Tests from a quality perspective

Work with Product Support to encompass customer feedback and issues into product improvements and assist with addressing customer support issues

Manage obsolescence issues

Be knowledgeable with respect to the competition and monitor industry trends

Travel internationally to customer premises, trade shows and conferences to solicit customer and market input

Skills / Knowledge required:

Experience of the Product Management of complex high value products

A sound engineering background preferably in electrical and electronics

Systems engineering and design experience desirable

Experience of interfacing with customers and other key stakeholders

Ability to influence cross-functional teams

Experience of drafting product requirement documents

Microsoft Office

Previous experience in the ROV or a related sector desirable
