The IT team here at Biffa are undergoing digital transformation to ensure our products and services use the best and most cutting-edge technology to drive competitive advantage for our business. We are looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of individual project delivery from several business capabilities/segment areas.  You will be passionate about understanding the business in-depth and developing digital solutions that blend seamlessly with customers' workflows, provide the right information at the right time and deliver shareholder and customer value.

Your core responsibilities

Work with business teams to take the idea through to product implementation.
Work closely with designers, engineers, and business professionals in a collaborative environment to execute strategic, product roadmaps.
Contribute to community of practice, sharing ideas, best practice and building collective team success. 
Define software solutions that technical teams can deliver from simple to complex solutions.
Manage the requirements/user story backlog through validation and prioritisation.
Facilitate discussions, user story development and refinement, participate in testing, service transition and early life support; potentially transition to product owner role in BAU and maintain/evolve the product in an iterative environment.  
Perform product demonstrations and product technical presentations.
Collaborate with functional leads in Software Engineering to build best-in-class software, products, and services.
Translate high-level specifications for software components into program specifications. Estimate time against completing the program specifications.
Assist the research, evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations..

Our essential requirements

Previous experience working as a Product Manager and/or Business Analyst on small to large scale projects and software products (preferably in Agile/SCRUM environment)
Experience driving out business value and rationale of change initiatives
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations
Understanding of system development life cycle methodologies (e.g., waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, and DevOps)
Experience embedding agile ceremonies and ways of working across distinct team.
