Are you a detail-oriented Engineering Technician with experience in product testing, device analysis, or semiconductor manufacturing? We're recruiting for a Product Engineering Technician to join a growing Product Engineering team, supporting the development, testing, and continuous improvement of innovative electronic products.

Reporting to the Product Development Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in product characterisation, technical analysis, reliability testing, and laboratory support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and working with advanced test equipment in a fast-paced technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide product characterisation support across a range of electronic and semiconductor product lines.
Carry out device analysis to support customer returns (RMAs), manufacturing issues, reliability failures, and reverse engineering activities.
Produce clear and accurate technical reports, analysing test results against product specifications.
Develop and improve automated characterisation processes using Visual Basic and GPIB programming where applicable.
Design, build, maintain, and repair laboratory equipment used for product characterisation and testing.
Support PCB design and procurement for characterisation and life-testing activities.
Develop, edit, and maintain test programmes for automated test equipment (ATE).
Manage laboratory operations, including equipment calibration, tester maintenance, repairs, and component procurement.
Maintain quarterly GBNT testing requirements and ensure testing schedules are achieved.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, product quality, and laboratory performance.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation while ensuring compliance with quality and health & safety standards.
Skills & Experience

Five GCSEs (or equivalent), including English.
Previous experience within a semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and manufacturing quality processes.
Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and product inspection techniques.
Experience supporting product testing, device analysis, or laboratory activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with Visual Basic programming or automated test systems would be advantageous.
Knowledge of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems and PCB design is desirable.
Experience using SAP and Microsoft Access would be beneficial.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
