I'm working with an established and innovative business within the environmental and safety products sector, who are looking to add a Product Research & Development Co-Ordinator / Trainee Co-Ordinator to their R&D team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys research, developing ideas, understanding customers and taking projects from an initial concept through to launch.
You'll play a key role in supporting the development of new products, working across the business to turn customer and market insight into commercially viable product ideas.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting market and competitor research to identify customer needs, market gaps and opportunities
Generating and evaluating new product ideas
Keeping up to date with industry trends, innovations and commercial opportunities
Engaging directly with customers to understand their needs and develop product concepts
Organising and attending face-to-face customer research meetings
Preparing detailed design briefs for the Product Design team
Project managing new product development projects, ensuring key milestones are delivered
Working closely with Product Design, Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Operations
Preparing and delivering presentations to internal stakeholders
Coordinating activities around new product launches
Supporting the ongoing review and development of the existing product portfolio
Travelling for business when required
They're looking for someone who is:
Creative and able to generate new ideas
Analytical with strong research and problem-solving skills
Commercially aware and customer-focused
A strong communicator, both written and verbally
Highly organised with good project management skills
Comfortable managing multiple priorities
Proactive, self-motivated and detail-oriented
Confident using Microsoft Office or equivalent
Happy to travel when required
Previous experience in Product Development, R&D, Marketing or Project Management would be beneficial, alongside experience in customer research, market analysis or working cross-functionally.
A 2:1 degree in Product Design, Marketing or a related subject is required.
