Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our client’s expanding buying team as a Product & Sourcing Co-ordinator. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to kick start a career in buying and product development. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of administrative, creative, and commercial tasks, providing a comprehensive understanding of the business and its operations.
Responsibilities:
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business, customer base, and competition through placements in various departments.
* Monitor market trends, analyse emerging trends, and ensure the product range remains fresh and exciting.
* Collaborate with the Product Designer to create mock-ups, concepts, and product specifications for sampling and manufacture.
* Work with the Purchasing & Shipping team to process quotations, order samples, set up product profiles, and arrange photography.
* Partner with the Marketing Team to create campaigns, product launch events, and trade shows.
* Assist in the merchandising, display, and grouping of products in the showroom.
* Support the Sales Team in delivering bespoke products, pitches, and handling key account product requests.
* Attend trade shows across the UK.
* Post-placement responsibilities include:
* Assist the Managing Director in the product cycle for the interior sector, from sourcing to curating the brand's "look and feel."
* Participate in overseas buying trips with the buying team.
* Develop and manage product ranges within giftware, homeware, and garden categories.
* Progress to a Buyer position, taking on responsibilities for specific seasons within the interior sector and managing budgets.
Qualifications:
* A degree in a relevant field (Creative, Product Design, Marketing, Business) is preferred.
* Strong interest and enthusiasm for products within the interior, giftware, homeware, and décor sectors, with a keen eye for market trends.
* Highly creative mindset with the ability to work on product sourcing and development.
* Commercially minded with a desire to understand business operations and assist across various departments.
* Exceptional organisational and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including customer service and presentation skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
* Great attention to detail and an understanding of how small details contribute to the big picture.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to unique buying processes.
* Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and other common design applications. Quick to adapt to new systems.
