Description:

A pioneering high-technology company requires a Procurement & Supply Chain Associate to support procurement, supplier management, inventory control and production planning activities as the business scales towards higher manufacturing volumes. This opportunity would suit an early-career procurement or supply chain professional, a recent graduate, or someone who has completed a placement year, internship or apprenticeship within procurement, supply chain, logistics, operations or manufacturing environments.

The Procurement & Supply Chain Associate will join an innovative and fast-growing business developing breakthrough cutting-edge technologies. Working closely with manufacturing, engineering and commercial teams, the role will provide broad exposure across purchasing, inventory management, supplier development, logistics and production planning, making it an excellent opportunity for somebody looking to build a long-term career in procurement and supply chain management.

Specific duties of the Procurement & Supply Chain Associate include:

Raise purchase orders, obtain supplier quotations and manage order progress through to delivery.
Support supplier relationship management activities, including maintaining supplier records and onboarding new suppliers.
Monitor deliveries and proactively resolve shortages, delays and supplier issues.
Receive and inspect incoming deliveries, book materials into stock and maintain accurate inventory records.
Support stock control activities including stock takes, storage management and inventory accuracy improvements.
Coordinate shipping, courier activities, returns and logistics documentation.
Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to understand material requirements and support production planning activities.
Identify potential supply chain risks and help develop inventory planning processes including reorder points and minimum stock levels.
Contribute to procurement, inventory and supplier process improvements as the business grows.
Support quality and compliance activities, including supplier documentation requirements.

Procurement & Supply Chain Associate applicants should meet the following criteria:

Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations or a related discipline.
Early-career experience within procurement, supply chain, logistics, inventory management, planning or purchasing would be advantageous. This could include an industrial placement, internship, year-in-industry or graduate role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and inventory records.
Knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, logistics, MRP or supplier management would be beneficial but is not essential.
