Procurement Practitioner (Governance) - 12 month contract - Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria - £31.78 ph UMB or £23.70 ph PAYE (Inside IR35)

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

The Role

The Submarine Supply Chain Senior Procurement Practitioner reports to the Procurement Leader and is part of the Supply Chain Ecxellence Governance & Assurance Team. They play a key part in delivering and leading governance & assurance across the Supply Chain function within the business.

Working across both the central Supply Chain function and its supporting programmes the Senior Procurement Practitioner will ensure governance is adhered too and the correct assurance is in place by verifying its integrity.

It will have Procurement Professionals reporting to them.

The Supply Chain Excellence organisation is a growing team that currently consists of 50+ procurement and general supply chain professionals.

This role will represent the Supply Chain Governance and Assurance team in a number of areas providing clear direction and support of governance and Assurance activities including, action management, BMS health, Process devlepment and performance reporting to ensure the submarines business meets both its strategic goals and mandated standards such as Export Control, ISO standards and general nuclear and security standards.

Role Responsibilities:

Not limited to…

Supports and provides and leads governance & assurance across both the central function and its supporting programmes
Manages a complex group of stakeholders improving relationships and promoting the value added by Supply Chain
Interfaces with Shared Services organisation to identify synergies across the supply chain and opportunities for joint working with suppliers
Interfaces with Astute, Dreadnought and SSNR Supply Chain organisations to ensure Supply Chain continues to deliver stakeholder requirements
Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and implement these with the team
Manages actions within the subs action management system
Supports the Subs quality 'Do the right thing' ethic

Qualifications:

CIPS would be desired but not mandated
ISO 9000:1 Auditing would be highly desired but not essential

Security Requirements: SC & UK EYES ONLY

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period.
