Procurement Manager

Description:

Our client, an established manufacturer of innovative technical products supplied to customers worldwide, are looking for a Procurement Manager to join their team based in Lymington.

This is a leadership role responsible for managing the procurement function, developing the purchasing team and ensuring a reliable, cost-effective supply chain across the business.

Key responsibilities of the Procurement Manager job based in Lymington:

Lead, manage and develop the Procurement team, setting KPIs and driving performance
Manage end-to-end procurement including sourcing, tendering, negotiation and supplier management
Ensure continuity of supply across materials, components and services
Lead supplier escalations and resolve production-critical supply issues
Develop sourcing strategies and deliver cost reduction initiatives
Build strategic supplier relationships and negotiate pricing and commercial agreements
Monitor supplier performance across quality, cost and delivery
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and develop alternative sourcing solutions
Manage purchasing forecasts, orderbooks and inventory optimisation
Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and systems
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Sales and R&D teams
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ISO9001 and relevant legislation

Experience required for the Procurement Manager job based in Lymington:

5+ years' procurement experience within a manufacturing, engineering or aerospace environment
2+ years' experience leading and developing procurement/purchasing teams
Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management
Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills
Good understanding of manufacturing supply chains and procurement best practice
Experience using ERP/MRP systems; Syspro desirable
CIPS qualified/working towards or relevant Supply Chain/Business qualification
Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Proactive approach to continuous improvement with excellent organisational skills
