Location: South East England
Contract Type: Temporary
Daily Rate: £500 per day
Working Pattern: 3 days per week

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Interim Procurement Manager to join their team, providing essential procurement leadership across an area going through LGR in South East England. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a meaningful impact within the public sector.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will leverage their extensive procurement experience in local government or the wider public sector to navigate a complex and evolving environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective commercial outcomes, robust governance, and compliance with public procurement requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Advice: Provide effective procurement leadership and professional advice to senior stakeholders.
Procurement Activity: Lead and support a diverse range of procurement activities, encompassing goods, services, and contracts.
Strategic Guidance: Offer expert advice on procurement strategy, routes to market, contract management, and commercial considerations to budget holders and service areas.
Compliance Assurance: Ensure all procurement activity adheres to public sector procurement legislation, regulations, policies, and governance requirements.
Tendering Oversight: Lead or oversee competitive tendering and procurement processes from specification to contract award.
Efficiency Identification: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to uncover opportunities for efficiencies, savings, and enhanced commercial outcomes.
Contract Management: Provide valuable advice regarding contract extensions, renewals, and supplier performance.
Documentation Development: Support the creation and maintenance of procurement documentation, processes, and governance arrangements.
Transformation Contribution: Engage in procurement improvement, transformation, and organisational change initiatives, fostering collaboration across both councils. Essential Experience:

Significant procurement experience within local government or the wider public sector.
Strong grasp of public sector procurement processes, governance, and compliance.
Proven track record in leading end-to-end procurement exercises and sourcing activities.
Ability to deliver credible commercial and procurement advice to senior stakeholders.
Experience working across multiple services or organisations.
Robust knowledge in contract management and supplier relationship management.
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Capacity to work independently and quickly adapt in an interim setting.Desirable Experience:

Familiarity with Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).
Background in working across multiple local authorities or within shared-service arrangements.
Experience in organisational transformation, restructuring, or service redesign.
CIPS qualification or equivalent professional procurement qualification.
Demonstrated success in delivering procurement savings and efficiencies.Personal Attributes:
