Our client is a long-established Engineering Business that design, manufacture and install fabrications into a variety of sectors across the UK.

Due to continued growth and expansion, they are now urgently looking to hire a Procurement Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will also have a strong Engineering background and be able to work independently and efficiently.

The successful candidate must be flexible in the role. It’s a small team so they will need to get stuck into responsibilities that wouldn’t usually be deemed “procurement”

Responsibilities

* Build and manage a Purchasing, Procurement & Stores function.

* Implement and administer an effective Purchasing/Procurement process (using systems) that will improve the efficiency of the Business.

* Evaluate the current supply base on cost, delivery, quality and risk.

* Review competitive quotes and consider the cost, delivery time and reliability of the supplier, ensuring a sufficient number of quotes have been received.

* Complete an evaluation and standardisation of all supplier contracts to ensure the business achieves best price and have consistency across the supply base.

* Issue Purchase Orders to suppliers and monitor delivery times.

* Review, monitor and evaluate levels of stock required.

* Oversee and manage the goods in/out processes within the organisation.

* Operational and Commercial management of logistics to ensure cost-effective movement of parts to meet production requirements.

* Monitor the expenditure on individual projects and produce reports to Senior Management on budgetary performance.

* Be involved of Cap-ex spending and provide detailed ROI calculations.

In the longer term this will lead to building a team underneath you and increased proportions of work being involved in strategic projects aimed at growing the business.

Experience:

* 3-5 years’ minimum experience in a Purchasing/Procurement/Supply Chain management position.

* Experience working in an Engineering environment – being able to read Engineering drawings is a must.

* Excellent communication and organisational skills.

* This role will suit driven, proactive and ambitious individuals who are seeking a career opportunity to grow

If you are looking for a new challenge and have the relevant skills to be succesful in this role, then we'd love to hear from you
