Procurement Manager

Description:

Group Procurement Manager required to join a well-established precision engineering company that is based in the Huntingdon area and specialises in injection Moulding. The main purpose of this position is to manage all commercial aspects of the supply base and to negotiate the best total cost price for materials and consumables. The successful candidate will be required to source and manage a supply base appropriate for the supplying of raw material, consumables and services which meets the businesses needs and requirements.

Procurement Manager Position Overview

To manage and develop the group procurement team based in both the UK and Lithuania ensuring the team is working efficiently and effectively in order to deliver the departmental goals and objectives.
Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner within the parameters of current health and safety legislation (HASAW Act 1974)
Develop strategies to ensure the supply of raw materials, hardware, consumables, factored goods, indirect purchases, services and intercompany purchases ensuring cost savings and supplier performance targets are met
Undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements
Develop and actively manage strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring business requirements are fully understood and met and that supplier performance is measured and regularly evaluated.
To source alternative products/suppliers as appropriate in support of the groups commercial offering, ensuring the necessary criteria are met in respect of the production process and quality.
Manage the tendering process, ensuring the negotiation and implementation of best value contracts taking account of total cost of ownership, using a variety of approaches.
To lead the group procurement team working with pace and urgency to mitigate material shortages and liaise with key internal stakeholders. Ensuring they are trained and competent to conduct role and to monitor their performance against the set goals and objectives.

Procurement Manager Position Requirements

At least 2 years or more previous experience within a Procurement manager role or a similar position
Previous experience within a Plastics / Injection moulding environment is highly advantageous
Negotiation experience
Preferably a Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field such as Business Management, Contract Management or Procurement.
Must live within a commutable distance of Huntingdon

Procurement Manager Position Remuneration

Full time - Permanent position
Monday to Friday
Salary - £55,000 - £65,000 (DOE)
