Description:
Our client, a leading organisation within the defence and security sector, is seeking a Procurement Engineer for a contract position based in Samlesbury. The role will support commercial and supply activities across complex engineering programmes, with a focus on procurement, contract negotiation and effective stakeholder management. This position requires attendance on site three days per week and full Security Check (SC) clearance from the outset.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the negotiation of commercial and supply proposals
Managing the closure of negotiations and ensuring agreed actions are completed
Setting strategic objectives for procurement and supply activities
Providing order book management support and monitoring delivery commitments
Reviewing and managing customer contract flow-down requirements
Analysing costings, commercial proposals and contractual terms and conditions
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support successful procurement outcomes
Maintaining accurate commercial and procurement records throughout the contract lifecycle
Job Requirements:
Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or commercial engineering environments
Understanding of contract negotiation and commercial or supply proposals
Knowledge of cost analysis, contractual terms and conditions, and customer requirements
Experience supporting order book management and contract flow-down activities
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical abilities
Ability to manage priorities and work effectively within a complex engineering environment
Full SC clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain full SC clearance from the start of the assignment
Working Arrangements:
Contract position within the defence and security sector
Based in Samlesbury
Three days per week working on site
