Are you ready to take your procurement expertise to the next level? Do you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Look no further! We are seeking a talented Procurement Category Manager to join our vibrant team in Birmingham.

As a Procurement Category Manager, you'll be tasked with guiding and supporting the business in its procurement activities, ensuring strict adherence to both business and group policies. This includes handling the tendering process for indirect purchase requirements across all departments, negotiating contracts and any necessary amendments, and liaising with the wider team and the Department of Transport (DfT) to gain approval for crucial contracts while maintaining compliance with existing agreements. Moreover, you'll provide invaluable commercial and contractual advice to the business, influencing its strategic approach, acting as the interface between the business and external legal counsel for contractual matters, attending pivotal contract review meetings, and aiding colleagues in the review and enhancement of procurement policies and procedures.

Hours of Work: Full Time, Permanent

Procurement Category Manager Requirements:

Previous practical experience in a Category Management role – ideally within a large, complex organisation
Be CIPS qualified or actively studying towards it
Management and negotiation of large contracts
Exposure in interpreting complex legal documentation
Great commercial and financial awareness
Strong stakeholder management and influence skills
