Procurement Team Member - Purchasing Assistant/Coordinator
About the Role:
Our client are excited to announce the expansion of its team due to organic growth and the acquisition of prestigious new contracts. They are seeking a dedicated Purchasing Coordinator to join their dynamic Buying Office in the north of Glasgow. As part of a team of four, the successful candidate will be instrumental in projecting the company's image to both customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ordering raw materials and packaging to meet business needs.
* Ensuring timely and complete deliveries.
* Maintaining stock levels within agreed parameters.
* Ensuring proper shelf-life rotation.
* Booking goods into the system accurately.
* Managing stock levels and conducting short-coded goods checks.
* Maintaining high stock accuracy.
* Handling returns and credits from suppliers.
* Managing expectations of internal stakeholders.
* Maintaining optimal supplier relationships.
* Handling telesales and field sales product queries.
* Maintaining compliance with relevant standards.
* Ensuring adherence to documented procedures and controls.
Requirements:
* Experience in a similar busy Purchasing role is essential.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and general IT knowledge.
* Exceptional numeracy and communication skills.
* Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Enthusiasm to learn and develop skills.
