Process Shift Technician

Salary: Up to £35,373.73 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hull-HU12
Hours: Shift-based role including days and nights

About the Role

Our valued client is looking for a Process Shift Technician to join their team in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop a career within a manufacturing and laboratory environment.

The role involves working across both laboratory and manufacturing areas, ensuring products meet customer specifications while supporting the safe and efficient operation of the processing plant. Full training will be provided in all aspects of the role, making this an ideal opportunity for candidates with the right attitude, problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure work areas remain fully compliant with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Maintain technical standards within the production process.
Issue blending and packing instructions in line with production schedules.
Test products against required specifications and quality standards.
Identify and implement corrective actions to bring products into specification.
Complete testing of process materials and take effective action where issues are identified.
Maintain accurate records and archived samples to support quality assurance and customer enquiries.
Prepare and package samples for customers.
Work closely with Shift Supervisors to deliver production schedules.
Provide instructions and support to Production Operatives.
Liaise with the Maintenance Department to resolve process-related issues.
Investigate non-conforming materials and identify root causes and corrective actions.
Support the efficient and cost-effective use of materials throughout the production process.

Salary & Benefits

The fully competent salary for this role is £35,373.73 per annum.

To support training and development, the salary will increase progressively during the probationary period:

£33,373 per annum for the first 2.5 months
£34,373 per annum for the following 2.5 months
£35,373.73 per annum upon successful completion of the 5-month probation period and achievement of full competencyAdditional benefits include:

264 hours annual holiday entitlement (pro-rated from start date)
Full training provided
Permanent opportunity with long-term career prospects
Temporary-to-permanent applications considered

Shift Pattern

This is a shift-based role covering both day and night working.

Current shift pattern:

Days: 06:30 - 18:30
Nights: 18:30 - 06:30The shift cycle includes a combination of day shifts, night shifts, and rest days, repeating on a rolling basis.

Please note that the business is currently reviewing shift arrangements, and future patterns may move towards an 8-hour, 5-day shift system. However, the role will remain shift-based and will continue to include both day and night working.

There is no routine weekend working, other than when a night-shift rotation begins on a Sunday evening at 18:30.
