Description:

If you are an established and experienced process safety engineer with proven leadership skills, this is a chance to use those skills for a positive purpose: helping to solve the environmental challenge of our lifetime.

More than 380 million tonnes of plastic worldwide are produced every year. The vast majority are buried, burned or washed into the ocean. Join Mura Technology, and you’ll help to bring to life a technology that uses hydrothermal upgrading to create a sustainable plastic-neutral future.

Mura is developing a global portfolio of worldwide sites using hydrothermal upgrading. This emerging technology can convert plastics destined for incineration, landfill or the environment into valuable products. This is a chance to get in on the ground floor with a business that will make a big environmental impact.

The challenge
In this highly responsible role, reporting directly to the EHSS Manager the successful candidate will require the capability of interfacing with the technical team, operating team, other supporting functions and third parties to ensure the company’s process safety vision is embedded throughout the business.

This is a brand-new role for Mura Technology and will cover all process safety aspects. It is anticipated that the role will have significant interface with all aspects of the company.  A key part of the role will be to help define, drive and mentor the process safety standards throughout the business as Mura are determined to ensure health, safety and environmental compliance is a primary driver within it’s business.

What you can add
This is a brand-new role supporting ground-breaking technology, so whilst experience in hydrotreating or refinement of liquid hydrocarbon sectors would be ideal, it’s by no means essential.

However, the more of these boxes you can tick, the better:

A master’s degree in chemical engineering or post-graduate process safety qualification, and you will ideally be working towards chartered status
Significant prior Petrochem, chemical, oil or gas sector experience in a process safety role
Demonstrable leadership experience
Strong organisational and communication skills, a mature and responsible attitude and confidence to drive health and safety culture and standards within the team
Willingness and ability to travel to meet projects and operations globally In return, there’s a salary and benefits package that more than matches the level of responsibility on offer.
