Process Operator – Castings
Location: Chester, Cheshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,775 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts, Monday to Thursday:

6:00am – 3:00pm

3:00pm – 12:00am

Flexibility is required to work rotating shifts as business needs dictate.

The Role;

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Process Operator to join their Castings department in Chester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business where full training, PPE, and comprehensive health and safety guidance will be provided.

This is a hands-on production role where you will be involved in the manufacture of cast products within a controlled production environment. You will work safely with heated equipment and casting processes while ensuring products meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare moulds and casting equipment ready for production.

Safely work with molten materials as part of the casting process.

Assist with pouring and transferring materials into moulds.

Remove finished castings once cooled.

Inspect cast products for quality, defects, and damage.

Clean, trim, cut, and prepare finished castings as required.

Meet daily production targets.

Report any faults, defects, or safety concerns.

Ensure machinery and operating conditions are correct before production begins.

Complete production records accurately as required.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Follow all company policies relating to health and safety, PPE, hygiene, and operational procedures.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing, casting, or heavy engineering environment (preferred but not essential).

Experience working with molten materials or mould-based production would be advantageous but full training will be provided.

A practical, hands-on approach to work.

Excellent reliability, punctuality, and attendance.

Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

The ability to follow instructions and safe working procedures.

Strong teamwork skills.

Flexibility to work rotating shifts.

The ability to work in a warm manufacturing environment while wearing the required PPE.

Security ClearanceThe successful applicant will be required to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance before commencing employment.
