Knauf UK & Ireland are a market-leading manufacturer of lightweight building materials for the construction industry. We are part of the Knauf Group, the world’s largest producer of gypsum-based products for the construction industry.
We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineering Apprentice to join our Engineering team in Sittingbourne, Kent.
Duties of the Apprentice include:
* You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure th e safety of yourself and others.
* Support the team and their responsibilities for the safe functioning of all associated equipment, including operational process and equipment isolations.
* Support with the maintenance function to ensure appropriate condition monitoring and proactive maintenance activities are in place.
* Participate in continuous improvement and step-change projects.
* Support the team in researching and developing opportunities for process enhancement
* Develop and maintain a professional, open, positive and tolerant relationship with colleagues.
* Attend day release course as required.
* Keep up to date with all course work, workbooks, and logs.
* Continually check your progress against the training logbook with your mentor.
* Manage your time to allow IPS representatives to visit you and your mentor in the workplace on a regular basis.
* Shadow and support colleagues within the engineering team to develop practical skills.
* Develop good working relationships with members of the engineering team.
