Our Client is one of the UK’s leading pioneers in the race to develop and manufacture the latest Battery technology for industry, with an initial primary focus on supporting our ever growing Automotive manufacturing sector (but not exclusively!), ensuring that there will be a brighter and greener future for us all.

Working from state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the West Midlands, it is our pleasure to now be partnering our Client to help develop, build and nurture their team with only the very best talent!

As part of this growth, we are now actively seeking three experienced Process Engineers for Battery Cell assembly on a permanent basis.

As one of their Process Engineers, you will work as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team which is responsible for the delivery of projects through the cell assembly line. The role works directly with other functions and project teams and develops and implements processes to scale up capability of a wide range of cell assembling technologies. You will work as part of a highly skilled team of Engineers and Scientists and provide feasible solutions for various cell assembly problems and be responsible for any root cause analysis.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
The Industrialisation of new Equipment. Modification and continuous improvement of existing equipment; ensuring manufacturing processes remain technology relevant.
Project Management, management of Stakeholder Expectation and Technical Reporting.
Customer Facing - direct and indirect. Guiding, steering, and challenging expectation.
Process Engineering Technology owner. Analysing data and driving process performance; validation and capability studies for campaign use.
Hands-on approach to working. Directly supporting Plant, Operational and Quality Teams with practical and theoretical guidance and instruction.
Work independently and prioritise daily activities with minimal instruction.
Generate and Maintain documentation – Control Plans, PFMEAs, SWIs, Manufacturing Bill of Materials, Stage Drawings.
Market Research to keep abreast of battery industry progression.You will have the following qualifications & experience:
You should have a Degree in Mechanical / Electrical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering or similar, although plenty of relevant experience might be considered.
You should have multiple years’ experience working within a Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering role within the Automotive and/or Aerospace, perhaps Laser industries or an equivalent similar environment.
You will need excellent Reporting Skills verbally and be confident using software (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential).
You should be aware of Six-Sigma principles and be a capable Project Manager.
You should be a hands on engineer with a demonstrable knowledge of Automation, Mechanical and Controls.
You will need a strong interest in energy storage technology and be open to moving into a brand-new industry.
You should offer significant experience within a similar Process Engineering role within a high-speed manufacturing environment – Automotive industry experience is of particular interest.
You will have an exceptional appreciation for Health, Safety and Quality control procedures.It’s great if you also have the following:
Exposure to data acquisition equipment and PLC Controls or other automated systems is strongly desired.
AutoCAD knowledge is desirable.
Creo knowledge is desirable.
Any previous knowledge of Battery manufacturing would be really useful, but this is not essential.This position is available with immediate effect.
