Private Client Solicitor (5+ PQE) | Basildon

Location: Basildon Office
Hours: Full-time - 9.00am to 5.30pm
Position: Permanent

Our client, a well-established and reputable law firm in Basildon, is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its growing team, focusing on non-contentious Wills, Probate, and Trusts work.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and technically strong solicitor to take ownership of a busy and varied caseload within a supportive and professional environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and professional standards.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a full Private Client caseload, including Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts, and related non-contentious matters. You will provide clear, practical, and client-focused advice while ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and accurately from instruction through to completion.

You will also be expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the department and maintain strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.

Key Responsibilities

Managing a varied Private Client caseload independently.

Advising clients on Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, and Trust matters.

Drafting Wills, LPAs, and other legal documentation.

Handling estate administration from start to finish.

Conducting legal research and ensuring matters are dealt with accurately and efficiently.

Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and third parties.

Ensuring compliance with Law Society, SRA, and firm procedures at all times.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management records.

Delivering high standards of client care throughout all matters.

Supporting junior team members where appropriate.

Requirements

Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE in Private Client law.

Strong experience in Wills, Probate, and Trusts work.

Ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision.

Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills.

Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.

Sound knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.

Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
