Principle Marine Engineer
Newcastle
Salary up to £65k

Calibre Search are working alongside a major UK-based multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy who have been providing high-quality services to their clients for over 120 years.

Due to a healthy forward workload they are looking to appoint a Principal Engineer to join their Marine team in the Newcastle office. Their portfolio of marine work includes harbour and quay walls; piers; wave protection structures; marinas & berthing facilities and coastal land reclamation.

You will have an unparalleled opportunity to work directly with and support the Office Partners in the delivery of a varied portfolio of Civil Engineering works in the marine environment. You will also be given the opportunity to support the Office Partners in business development through client liaison, networking and preparation of bids and proposals to sustain and grow a strong client base.

Acting as Technical Lead in the design and assessment of marine structures, you will review designs and drawings completed by team members or other parties for compliance with design standards, best practice guidance, contractual obligations and client expectations, ensuring that quality and consistency of technical output is maintained. You will undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages and ensure work is compliant with Health and Safety legislation such as the CDM Regulations and other applicable codes and also attend design meetings, site meetings and carryout site inspections.

You will have a Bachelor's degree or Masters level qualification in a Civil Engineering discipline and hold a professional qualification and membership of an appropriate professional body at Chartered or Incorporated status i.e Institution of Civil Engineers, or, be working towards Chartered Status of an appropriate professional institution.

Possessing a minimum of 7-10 years post-graduation experience, you will have a relevant Civil Engineer degree and be Chartered or at near Chartered status. You will have a track record of developing and maintaining relationships with clients and project stakeholders and have the ability to take initiative and manage your own workload and that of others to meet deadlines
