As they embark on an exciting period of growth and technological advancements, they are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join their dynamic IT team.

Your new role
As the Principal Linux Infrastructure Engineer, you will report to the Head of IT and play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our Linux enterprise architecture. Your primary responsibilities will include governance, change management, and overall architectural ownership of the deployed solutions, as well as providing expert-level support and strategic technology guidance for future developments within the organisation. You will also lead significant technical projects, modernise the infrastructure, and ensure the implementation of best practices.

What you'll need to succeed

Extensive experience administering IT systems and providing third-line support in medium to large environments.
Strong experience in working with outsourcing partners and managing multiple specialist support organisations.
Proficiency in Linux administration and DevOps CD/CI with knowledge of Jenkins and Puppet scripting.
Programming knowledge in languages such as AWK, DASH, BASH, YAML, RHEL, PUPPET, C++, C, JAVA, RUBY, and PHP.
Configuration and support experience with services like NGINX, Supervisors, RabbitMQ, Jenkins, and JAVA Jar files.
Advanced automation knowledge in CI/CD and source control concepts using GIT.
In-depth understanding of Linux security, SSL, proxy SSL, and Oracle wallets connection concepts.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide solutions following best practices.
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Self-motivated, organised, and experienced in man-management and presentation skills.
