Principle Electrical Engineer (Power Networks)
Manchester
Up to £95,000 DOE
Carbon60 is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer with power networks experience to working with a well-established client who is looking to grow their team in Manchester.
As an Electrical Engineer in their Power Networks team, you will play a role in designing, developing and integrating electrical systems across a variety of power generation, transmission, and distribution projects. With your power network knowledge, you will design, analyse and optimise power distribution systems, helping deliver solutions which will help deliver major energy projects across the UK.

What are we looking for?

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (master's beneficial)
Previous experience conducting power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, and transient stability analysis, to assess system performance and identifying potential issues.
Experience Designing and implementing protection and control schemes to ensure the reliability and security of power systems.
Previous experience working on renewable energy projects, such as the integration of solar, wind, and energy storage systems into existing grids.What will you be doing?

Working with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive power system designs that align with client requirements and industry standards.
Conducting power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and transient stability analysis, to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
Designing and implementing protection and control schemes to ensure the reliability and security of power systems.
Evaluating equipment specs, such as transformers, switchgear, and generators, to ensure compatibility and optimal performance within the power network.
Participating in the development of renewable energy projects, including integration of solar, wind, and energy storage systems into existing grids.
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Collaborating with clients to understand their unique challenges and objectives, and delivering innovative solutions that exceed their expectations.
