The Client, a Global multi-disciplinary Transport Planning Consultancy, is looking for a Principal Transport Planner to join the team based in Birmingham. The Client has worked in over 45 countries across six continents, improving the movement around the world. The client works across varying sectors such as development planning, influencing behaviour, policy and strategy, and public transport.

The position of a Principal Transport Planner:
As a Principal Transport Planner, key responsibilities include site appraisals, transport assessments, client relationship management, pursuing business development, supporting negotiations, and attending Highway Authority meetings. You should be capable of managing projects as well as mentoring the junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities as a Principal Transport Planner:
Conduct site access appraisals and transport assessments
Develop concept designs for highway schemes and junction improvements
Mentor junior team members and foster their professional development
Cultivate client relationships and contribute to business development efforts
Prepare fee proposals and assist in securing new opportunities
Monitor project resourcing and financial performance
Essential Requirements for the Principal Transport Planner:
Proven experience in a Transport Planning consultancy
Strong knowledge of transport planning policy, principles, and standards.
Relevant postgraduate experience and ideally pursuing Chartered status
Familiarity with local and national transport policy and guidance
Experience building, running, and understanding the outputs of Junctions 10 and LinSig software
