The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Engineer to join our team within the Combat Air Sector. This role will primarily focus on the development and enhancement of the Praetorian DASS (Defensive Aids SubSystems) products. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in systems engineering to support various stages of the specification, design, development, integration, and testing processes.
What You'll Do:
As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will engage in diverse activities aimed at synthesising engineering and technology components into high-performance systems. Some typical responsibilities include:
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to comprehend user requirements and needs, thereby influencing system designs and specifications.
Designing and executing test strategies to validate compliance with design and implementation standards, ensuring certification requirements are met.
Supporting system integration, verification, and validation efforts to assess performance and effectiveness.
Generating engineering specifications, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.What We Need From You:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Proficiency in a relevant technical domain within an EW systems context/application.
Strong expertise in requirements generation and management, particularly using IBM DOORS.
Experience in crafting detailed design artefacts to support requirements specifications.
Comprehensive understanding of design compliance and acceptance criteria, including progressive verification and validation across various stages of development.
Sound grasp of systems engineering principles throughout the development lifecycle.
Previous experience in providing technical leadership for complex products.
Ability to effectively manage interface control at subsystem, system, and system-of-system levels, including the creation of interface control documents.
Self-motivation, problem-solving aptitude, and the ability to drive challenging issues to resolution.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
