Are you an experienced molecular biologist with experience in assay development?

Would you like to work for a revolutionary veterinary therapeutic company?

My client is an antibody discovery company focussed on developing innovative therapeutic treatments for veterinary diseases.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced scientist to join their growing and dynamic team, bringing the latest scientific knowledge and a drive for innovation to the team.

The role would suit an experienced molecular biologist with experience in assay development, who is looking to apply their knowledge to the growing area of veterinary therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities of the Principal Scientist – Molecular Biology:

Implement cutting-edge immunological and pharmacological assays to characterise and assess antibody potential.

Drive antibody discovery efforts through target identification and antibody generation.

Innovate and implement novel methodologies and technologies to enhance drug discovery and development. Leading and contributing to the development of novel therapeutic antibodies and biologics targeting key disease pathways.

Provide leadership and guidance to a multidisciplinary laboratory team.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance drug discovery from target validation to clinical development.

Foster a culture of scientific rigor and innovation.

Stay up to date with emerging technologies and advancements applicable to the field of in-vitro assay development.

Present project updates and findings to stakeholders and collaborators and contribute to the scientific community via publications and presentations.

To be considered for the Principal Scientist – Molecular Biology you will need the following skills and experience:

A MSc/PhD in a relevant field such as Molecular Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, or Animal Health, or equivalent with significant industrial work experience.

Proficiency in cellular and molecular biology techniques, with experience in in-vitro pharmacology assay design, optimisation, validation, and development.

Experience in scientific leadership with an ability to drive collaborative research efforts and communicate across interdisciplinary teams.

Prior experience working with colleagues across functions such as discovery, early development, clinical and manufacturing teams.

Proficiency in statistical methods, data analysis software and bioinformatics for data interpretation.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, applying critical thinking and analytical skills to ensure smooth delivery of research projects.

Excellent organisation and communication skills, able engage with all levels in the organisation and act as an  advocate for the company with external partners.
