Gordon Murray Technologies is seeking a highly specialised and experienced Program Engineer with expertise in the area of Automotive Electrical Systems. The successful candidate will play a lead role overseeing the successful execution of electrical hardware components related to the development and integration to vehicle topology. You will liaise with cross-functional teams through all phases of program, from initial concept to production launch, ensuring adherence to overall project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, program management skills, and leadership capabilities to drive the successful delivery of innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Principal & Project Engineers to successfully deliver all Electrical Hardware parts (including wiring harness) for our new Electric Vehicle Program.
Lead the development of comprehensive program plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budget estimation, and milestone scheduling within Electrical HW team.
Identify potential technical risks and challenges early in the program lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and outcomes.
Monitor engineering deliverables progress against key performance indicators (KPIs), identify deviations from plan, and take proactive measures to address issues and ensure timely technical resolution.
Maintain regular communication within Electrical department and other function groups including Software, Feature & Function Development Team to provide updates on technical status, solicit feedback, and address concerns.
Manage & monitor engineering changes effectively, evaluating their impact on schedule, cost, and quality, and obtaining necessary approvals as required.
Represent Electrical and report out on Electrical Engineering status and deliverables (e.g. BOM, Releases, DFMEA, DVP&R etc.) in Program Status Reviews (PMST, PST)Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience in project engineering within Automotive Environment
Extensive experience in one or more areas of product development focusing of major ECUs, Domain Controllers, EDS, Infotainment systems, ADAS
Excellent understanding Automotive New Product Development Process, Milestones and deliverables for each phases
Demonstrable experience of electrical component's product development lifecycle and managing it from concept to launch
Notable experience in using various engineering development tools (Polarion, JIRA etc.) and collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Office 365
Honor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics, Honor's degree in similar areas such as Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive acceptable with relevant experience in the field
Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
Additional professional qualifications of Leadership / Managerial skills and Project Management - desired
Possession of full driving licence is essential.
Articulate, self-motivated and able to work well on own initiative to achieve goals & objectives
Excellent skills in managing teams through various phases of the project, high pressure work environment, flexible working policies, multiple work locations etc.
Team leader, build constructive relationships and be able to collaborate with others and build One-Team
Good problem-solving and critical thinking mindset to create reports and metrics with supporting data
Excellent communication skills at all levels of business internally and externally with partners and suppliers
