Principal Highways Engineer.

Northamptonshire (M1 Corridor).

£45,000 - £55,000.

Working from flagship offices (one of which being designed by their Engineers themselves), they house some of the most impressive talent in the industry. Their service offering includes structural, civil and geotechnical engineering; to name a few, and due to strategic expansion, they are now looking for a number of Highways Engineers to join them. Working on commercial projects within a fast-paced environment, the key responsibilities for your new role as Principal Highways Engineer are as follows:

* Leading a number of Engineers and Technicians within a design team and being responsible for their management and the efficient and timely delivery of output.

* Independently undertaking conceptual and feasibility design, as well as detailed design.

* Checking technical content of work carried out by others to ensure that deliverables are correct and in accordance with all relevant standards, guidance and regulations.

* Balancing a number of projects, at any one time.

* Attending client and design team meetings to convey and relay key issues on technical matters, as well as programme, contractual and commercial matters, with support from colleagues and management.

* Responsibility for training others and controlling the quality of drawings within the office.

* Coordinating with colleagues in other offices to ensure consistent standards are provided nationwide.

* Involvement in internal peer reviews and pro-actively encouraging knowledge dissemination within the company.

* Complying with company design, safety, quality and environmental compliance and procedural standards.

My client would love to hear from people who have a solid background in highway design and are familiar with S104, S38 and S278 sectional agreements. Regardless of previous expertise however, you will be a team-player, by nature, and be keen to grow and develop by working on a wide variety of engaging projects.

In return, my client is offering an excellent salary of £40,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience, with further opportunities for progression being readily available for those who want it.
