Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Highways Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of transportation projects, ensuring high-quality design, compliance with regulations, and effective project management.

Responsibilities:

1. Comprehensive Project Documentation: Generate detailed project documentation encompassing drawings, schedules, cost estimates, and tender and contract documents.

2. Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments, traffic surveys, and road safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

3. ICT Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in various ICT software, particularly AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, to facilitate efficient project management and documentation.

4. Project Design Management: Oversee day-to-day project design management, including supervising designs to ensure adherence to project requirements and standards.

5. Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, appoint consultants for CDM leadership, and uphold safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

6. Mentorship and Guidance: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment and facilitating professional development.

7. Meeting Support and Contribution: Support various meetings related to project progress, and contribute insights and expertise to business and investment cases.

8. Leadership Experience: As a Principal Highways Engineer, lead a team and project delivery, utilizing your expertise and experience to drive successful outcomes.

Requirements:

* Chartered Engineer Status: Hold Chartered Engineer status, demonstrating a high level of expertise and professionalism.

* Experience: Possess significant experience in leading transportation projects, including team leadership and project delivery.

* Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong understanding of transportation engineering principles and standards.

* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

* Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.

* Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within project timelines.
