Introduction
Our client, a leading company in the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Development Control Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. As a Development Control Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supervising and managing consultants responsible for contracted work undertaken on behalf of the Council. Your expertise in highways and development control will be utilized to ensure effective coordination of maintenance schemes with a cross-boundary/City Region reach.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing briefs and assisting in the supervision and management of consultants
Consulting and liaising with elected Members, partner organizations, stakeholders, and the public
Liaising closely with internal and external colleagues to ensure coordination in relation to maintenance schemes
Providing advice and responding to enquiries in connection with the service's and third party programs of work
Managing the procurement of works and services, including monitoring and control of budgets
Supervising implementation of services, contract administration, payments, and settlement of accounts
Maintaining thorough knowledge of current legislation, standards, and practices
Assisting in the development and maintenance of technical, operational, and management systems and records
Preparing clear and concise reports for submission to Management Team, Executive Board, and Policy & Performance Boards
Representing the service at meetings, hearings, and court on matters relating to the service
