A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Electrical Engineer to join its growing Oxford team.

This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects across sectors including science & research, healthcare, commercial and complex infrastructure, leading the delivery of innovative and sustainable building services solutions.
You'll play a key role in project leadership, client engagement, technical delivery and team development, helping to shape high-performing buildings that balance commercial objectives with environmental responsibility.

The Role
As Principal Electrical Engineer, you will lead the electrical design delivery on complex building services projects from concept through to completion.
Working closely with clients, architects, contractors and internal multidisciplinary teams, you'll take ownership of technical quality, programme delivery and commercial performance across a varied project portfolio.

Responsibilities

* Lead electrical design delivery on complex building services projects

* Act as technical lead throughout the project lifecycle

* Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams

* Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships

* Chair project meetings and represent the business externally

* Monitor project budgets, resources and programme delivery

* Identify and manage technical and commercial risks

* Review and approve technical designs and documentation

* Mentor and support junior engineers and developing professionals

* Ensure projects are delivered to the highest quality standards

About You
You will be an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer with a strong consultancy background and a track record of delivering complex projects.

Requirements

* Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar

* Chartered Engineer status preferred

* Strong technical expertise in electrical building servi

* Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams

* Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills

* Strong commercial awareness and project delivery experience

* Knowledge of current industry regulations, standards and design guidance

* Experience using industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Dialux and electrical design packages

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent
