Principal Electrical Engineer

Salary: up to £75,000 basic DOE
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be partnering with an established advanced automation engineering business, who is looking to bring a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of complex product development projects.
This is a pivotal role for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and influencing engineering strategy. You'll play a key role in delivering cutting-edge products from concept through to production while helping to develop and mentor the next generation of engineers.
The Role
As Principal Engineer, you will:
* Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering projects
* Support the definition and delivery of engineering strategy and best practice
* Lead multidisciplinary teams through the full product development lifecycle
* Act as a senior technical authority for customers, stakeholders, and engineering teams
* Drive innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
* Mentor and coach engineers at all levels
* Support customer engagement activities, proposals, and project planning
* Ensure engineering solutions are delivered to the highest standards of quality, performance, and compliance.
About You
You are likely to have:
* Degree qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Systems Engineering or a related discipline
* Significant experience delivering complex engineering or product development projects
* Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
* Strong understanding of the full product development lifecycle
* Excellent stakeholder and customer-facing skills
* A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring others
* Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) would be advantageous.
