Job Title: Principal Ecologist

Salary: £46,000 - £48,000

Location: Exeter

We are looking for a Principal Ecologist to join a leading, international engineering consultancy in their Exeter office. You'll join an award-winning team that works across the UK on a massive variety of projects.

Travel Insurance To be considered for the Principal Ecologist position, you will need:

A degree in ecology, biology, zoology or closely related field.
At least qualifying membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or an application in process (cover available for membership costs).
Experience with UKHabitat surveys.
Survey skills for one or more protected species.
An understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning policies, licensing requirements and best practice survey techniques.
Understanding of biodiversity net gain (BNG) / application of biodiversity enhancements.
Experience of producing ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal Reports.
Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders.
Willingness to complete field surveys and travel to different sites.
Excellent communication skills.
A full valid UK/EEC driving licence.
