Datatech Analytics is working with a leading UK consulting and technology organisation delivering secure, enterprise-scale data platforms across defence, national security and classified government programmes.

We're looking for Principal Data Architects who want genuine ownership and influence, while staying close to the engineering and delivery.

**The role**

You'll set the technical direction for large-scale data platforms across mission-critical programmes, working closely with senior stakeholders, engineers and delivery teams.

This is hands-on architecture. You'll help shape the platform, guide implementation and make sure the architecture works in the real world.

**What you'll do**

* Own data architecture across complex, secure programmes
* Design end-to-end platforms, from ingestion through to analytics and operational use
* Develop scalable architectures for highly classified environments
* Translate complex mission requirements into solutions that can actually be delivered
* Lead and guide engineering teams through implementation
* Shape longer-term data architecture and platform strategy

AWS, Azure, GCP · Databricks, Snowflake · Lake, Lakehouse and modern warehouse architectures · Distributed processing · DevOps, IaC and secure deployment · Governance, access control and analytics

**What we're looking for**

* Active DV clearance
* Strong track record delivering enterprise-scale data platforms
* Experience across defence, national security or secure government environments
* Deep cloud data architecture and secure design experience
* Comfortable operating with senior technical and business stakeholders
* Experience leading teams through complex delivery
