The Role

This role involves providing authoritative civil and structural engineering leadership, operating as the Design Authority for a high-profile fusion plant project. You will define civil design vision and standards, ensure integrated infrastructure development, and support from concept to delivery. Your responsibilities will include establishing governance frameworks, managing design risks, and driving technical excellence in a highly regulated environment. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing independent engineering judgement while ensuring compliance with safety standards and programme requirements.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

Proven expertise in civil and structural engineering within complex, regulated projects.
Extensive experience in design authority roles, ensuring delivery of compliant, integrated civil and infrastructure solutions.
Strong understanding of safety-critical systems, compliance standards such as CDM, and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in environments characterised by uncertainty and evolving design baselines.
Knowledge of systems integration, project governance, and risk management in large-scale engineering projects.
