Principal Civil Structures Engineer

£60k-£75k DOE plus benefits
Are you ready to deliver innovative civil/structural engineering designs on projects in rail/power infrastructure?
Do you want to design sustainable, intelligent designs? Do you have a full clean drivers licence and your own transport to visit sites?
Our client is well known for their collaborative approach to projects, and that infrastructure requires more than just a one-off design. Their communication and efforts towards customer objectives and exceeding expectations is something they pride themselves on. They are offering this as a full time, permanent position, which will require travel to construction sites on an ad hock basis, sometimes during unsociable hours. Our client is happy for the successful candidate to work from home one day a week, as hybrid.
The successful candidate would have a degree level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in a design consultancy (ideally with experience of executing, leading and managing the design of projects within rail/energy/infrastructure sectors). They are wanting someone who has considerable experience of working on Network Rail bridges/structures would be a requirement. You would have 4+ years' experience of managing a team of engineers and technicians and evidence of developing their skills and knowledge. The successful candidate would have excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal skills, and strong analytical and design skills with the ability to interpret design requirements and analyse complex structures. You would need to have strong health and safety management experience including management and maintenance of CDM Risk Registers.
The following are desirable for successful performance in the role: Masters level degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, and near or Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (ICE or IStructE).
