Principal Civil Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

A well-established, environmentally focused multi-disciplinary consultancy is strengthening its civil engineering capability. As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will lead drainage design, Flood Risk Assessments and sustainable infrastructure delivery across residential and commercial developments.
The Principal Civil Engineer will take ownership of projects from feasibility through planning and detailed design, working closely with environmental and planning teams. This Principal Civil Engineer role combines hands-on technical delivery with mentoring and business development, helping shape a high-performing team in Birmingham.
Key responsibilities
* Lead drainage and flood risk design across development schemes
* Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
* Deliver adoptable and private drainage designs to UK standards
* Provide technical leadership and quality assurance
* Act as key client contact and support business growth
Candidate requirements
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar
* Strong UK consultancy background in drainage and flood risk
* Experience delivering infrastructure designs to UK standards
* Chartered or working toward chartership
* Confident leading projects and mentoring engineers
