With exciting new projects on the horizon, they are looking for a Principle Bridge Engineer to join their newly created team on a permanent basis. With sites across the North, this person has the possibility to based in the Yorkshire or Leeds areas on a hybrid basis.

About the Principle Bridge Engineer Role

As a Principal Bridge Engineer, you will use your specialist engineering knowledge and experience to lead the team in the appraisal, assessment, and design of bridge structures.

Other responsibilities of the Principle Bridge Engineer will include:

* Undertaking bridge design from option study to detailed design, including preliminary design and outline cost estimates.

* Undertaking bridge inspections (GI’s and PI’s) and assessments.

* Preparation of analytical models, perform analyses and detailed calculations.

* Document preparation, including authoring technical reports, such as AIPs, assessment and design reports, specifications and contract documents.

About You

As Principal Bridge Engineer, you will be a Chartered Engineer with experience in leading multiple small to large sized projects. You will be comfortable working in a multi disciplined team and have the ability to communicate at all levels.

Other requirements include:

* Be a Chartered Engineer and have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)

* Have experience undertaking concept and detailed design reviews.

* Proficient in the use of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW).

* Conversant with analysis and design software packages, such as STAAD, MIDAS, LUSAS, Autodesk SBD etc.
