A highly-regarded engineering consultancy renowned for their expertise in fire safety within the built environment is currently seeking a Principal/Associate Fire Engineer to head their Fire Engineering Team in Blackpool. This role offers the opportunity to join an acclaimed consultancy that delivers innovative fire safety solutions through comprehensive design, analysis, audits, external wall safety assessments, risk evaluations, and building safety case services, all aimed at enhancing safety and promoting a collaborative approach to design.

The Principal/Associate Fire Engineer's Role

The Principal/Associate Fire Engineer will be responsible for overseeing financial aspects such as profit, loss, and debt, strategically recruiting to foster team growth, and promoting the professional development and well-being of team members. In this role, the Principal/Associate Fire Engineer will ensure high-quality technical delivery, efficiently manage administrative duties, and lead business development efforts to secure new projects and maintain client relationships.

As a Principal/Associate Fire Engineer, you will be tasked with developing and designing fire safety strategies, conducting external wall fire safety assessments and remediation, and providing comprehensive fire engineering analysis, including computational fluid dynamics and evacuation modelling. Additionally, the Principal/Associate Fire Engineer will offer expert advisory and witness services, conduct fire safety audits, peer reviews, and develop safety cases. You will also act as the principal client contact for projects and provide technical supervision, mentorship, and coaching to less experienced staff, fostering a team of proficient and dynamic professionals.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Principal/Associate Fire Engineer position will possess:

A Level 6 qualification (BEng or BSc) in a relevant field.
Mastery of fire standards like BS9999, BS9991, BS7974.
A deep understanding of UK fire safety legislation and a solid history of project management and technical delivery.
Membership in the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or an equivalent body, with aspirations towards chartered status.
Exceptional skills in business development and client relations.
A proactive and driven approach, with proven leadership and team development experience.
Experience in CFD modelling is advantageous.In Return?
