Long Term Futures are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Newham from September 2026.

The role will involve working across Key Stage 1 (KS1), supporting pupils with their learning, development and engagement throughout the school day. You will work alongside class teachers to provide a mixture of whole-class, small-group and 1:1 support, including additional assistance for pupils with SEN where required.

Interviews and trial days are taking place immediately for September, making this an excellent opportunity to secure your next long-term primary school role before the new academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teaching and learning across KS1
Provide 1:1 and small-group interventions in English, phonics and Maths
Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and classroom routines
Provide additional support for pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence
Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff
Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environmentIdeal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working with primary-aged children
Experience supporting pupils across KS1 is highly desirable
Good understanding of early literacy, numeracy and phonics
A patient, enthusiastic and proactive approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Experience supporting SEN pupils would be an advantage
A genuine interest in developing a career within primary educationLocation & Transport - Newham, East London
