Primary Teaching Assistant – Barking & Dagenham
Up to £95.00 per day | Immediate Start | Daily Supply & Long-Term Opportunities
Education First are recruiting enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Primary Teaching Assistants to work across welcoming mainstream primary schools in Barking and Dagenham.
We are looking for proactive and adaptable TAs to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working alongside class teachers to provide classroom assistance, 1:1 support and small-group interventions.
Whether you are looking for flexible daily supply, regular bookings or a long-term placement, this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across local primary schools.
Key Responsibilities
Support classroom learning, assist with English, Maths and phonics, provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist pupils with SEND including ASD and ADHD, promote positive behaviour and independence, prepare learning resources and work closely with teachers and the SENCO.
Requirements
Previous experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant, SEN TA or Learning Support Assistant is desirable. Candidates should have an understanding of EYFS, KS1 and KS2, experience supporting primary-aged children, strong communication skills and a patient, proactive approach. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential.
Safeguarding & Compliance
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, including a children's barred list check where applicable. Satisfactory references, employment history checks and safer recruitment procedures will apply. Knowledge of safeguarding, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the Prevent Duty is desirable.
