About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate EYFS / KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in St Albans for a full-time, one-term position starting in September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school community and make a meaningful impact in an Early Years Foundation Stage or Key Stage 1 classroom. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, well-planned lessons that inspire young learners, foster a love of learning and support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons for an EYFS or KS1 class in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and the National Curriculum.
Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development through high-quality teaching and learning.
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support continued learning.
Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents/carers to support pupils' learning and development.
Contribute to the wider life of the school.
Uphold the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply and will receive excellent support.
Experience teaching in EYFS or Key Stage 1 is desirable.
A secure understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and/or the National Curriculum.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A positive, proactive and reflective approach to teaching.
