Description:

Empowering Learning are supporting an independent provider of specialist education, who support children and young people aged 7 to 19 years with neurodiverse learning needs. They are seeking to appoint a Primary Teacher on a permanent basis within one of their schools based in West London from September 2024.

As a Primary Teacher within the school, you will monitor, and quality assure the delivery and management of a high-quality learning programme with a nurturing approach. Therefore, you will be required to champion and promote the interests and wellbeing of the pupils, by providing an environment that feels safe, secure and child focused. You will also hold overall responsibility for establishing and maintaining the quality and standards of educational and pastoral provision for all pupils in their class. Alongside this, you will look at all pupils holistically and carry out specific educational work supporting them in achieving their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and personal aspirations.

You will be required to plan, prepare and deliver of all aspects of teaching and learning, using the support and guidance of the Senior Leadership (SLT) and School Support Teams (SST). Differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of neurodiverse pupils with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) with a particular emphasis on Nurture approaches/teaching styles and provide opportunities for pupils to experience/understand learning in a range of contexts, and at a range of levels.

KEY EXPERIENCE

Qualified Teacher (Holds QTS or QTLS), with specialism in a relevant subject.
SEND qualifications or training towards one.
Minimum of two years qualified teaching experience either in the primary or SEND sector.
Recent primary, SEND or nurture related teaching experience.
Experience of managing neurodiverse children with SEND, especially ASC/SEMH needs, and an understanding of potential implications for communication, learning and behaviour patterns.
Working knowledge of National Curriculum, KS requirements and Code of Practice for SEND.
Knowledge and awareness of Safeguarding & Child Protection Procedures.
Demonstrable achievement in improving learning outcomes.Salary offered: £40,000 - £44,000 (Dependent on experience)
