Monday to Friday, full-time
Teaching a Year 5 class
Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum
Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
Working closely with the class teacher, SLT and wider school team
Year 5 Teacher – Key Responsibilities

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons across the Year 5 curriculum.
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils.
Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and progress.
Assess pupil progress and use this to inform future planning.
Support pupils with their academic and personal development.
Encourage pupils to become confident, independent learners.
Manage behaviour effectively using consistent and positive strategies.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider school team.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required.
Year 5 Teacher – About You

The successful Year 5 Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent.
Previous experience teaching in a primary school, ideally within KS2.
Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
A positive, enthusiastic and nurturing approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
A proactive, organised and flexible approach.
A genuine passion for teaching and helping children achieve their potential.
