Primary SEND Teacher (EYFS & Yr 1)

Description:

We are collaborating with a primary school in the Purbrook area utilising Manaba for both ad-hoc supply teaching and covering longer-term absences. We are seeking a EYFS/Yr1 SEND teacher for a full time, one year maternity cover role. Applicants available for full-time or part-time job shares are welcome. The role is to work with six SEND children with a range of SEND including Autism and Aspergers.

Hampshire boasts some of the UK's top schools, many rated Good or Excellent by Ofsted. PPA time is provided for long-term supply roles, and payment is made to scale.

Responsibilities:

* Teaching (including planning, for which PPA time is allocated)

* Assisting with lunch or break cover as needed

* Prioritising safeguarding, reporting any concerns about a child or adult behaviour

* Maintaining high standards of behaviour management

* Supporting Teaching Assistants in their roles

* Assisting the SLT in fostering a warm, inclusive environment that meets the emotional, social, educational, cultural, and spiritual needs of students

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Enhanced DBS Disclosure

* References required

* Passion for working with local primary schools to uphold standards

* Significant role in children's learning and development

* Good knowledge of the KS2 Primary curriculum

* Effective communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and advocacy)

* Ability to establish appropriate relationships with young people and other professionals

* Reliability, enthusiasm, creativity, and honesty
