Primary SEN Teacher - Shirebrook

Tradewind Recruitment | £160-£232 per day

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Primary SEN Teacher to work within a specialist setting in Shirebrook, part of a well-established Multi-Academy Trust (MAT).

This role would suit a confident, resilient teacher who is comfortable working with pupils with high behavioural needs and understands the demands of a specialist SEN environment.

The Role

Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons within a primary SEN classroom.

Support pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Manage behaviour effectively, maintaining clear boundaries and consistent routines.

Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.

Work alongside a team of Teaching Assistants providing support throughout the classroom.

Promote pupils' engagement, development and independence.

Please note: This is a demanding role. The class has high behavioural needs, so the successful candidate must be confident managing challenging situations, maintaining a calm approach and adapting to an unpredictable classroom environment. TA support is available, but previous experience in SEN or a similarly challenging setting is highly desirable.

Pay Rate - £160-£232 per day

The daily rate will depend on your teaching experience, qualifications and the school's available budget.

Candidates at the higher end of the pay scale will ideally have:

Extensive experience teaching within SEN or specialist provisions.

A strong track record of managing high behavioural needs.

Confidence adapting lessons for pupils with a range of additional needs.

Availability to commit to the role on a full-time basis.

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Has experience teaching at primary level.

Has experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour.

Is resilient, adaptable and confident managing a demanding classroom.

Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Is committed to providing consistent, high-quality education for pupils with additional needs.
