Primary Teacher

SEMH Teacher/SEN Teacher

Barking & Dagenham

September 2026

Are you a dedicated and committed primary teacher looking to make a genuine difference to lives of young people who need it most? If so, this could be the role for you.

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a small, nurturing independent provision in Barking & Dagenham. The school supports primary and secondary-aged pupils who are unable to access mainstream education due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

They are seeking a resilient and compassionate primary teacher (SEMH teacher/SEN teacher) to join their provision from September 2026.

The role:

Small KS2 class of 4-5 students
Work alongside experienced Behaviour Mentors who provide classroom support
The role is full-time with a 1pm finish on a Friday
Located close to Becontree station (District Line)
Parking available
1 year fixed- term contract, potential for permanency from there (or earlier, by negotiation)

Why work as a primary teacher/SEMH Teacher/SEN Teacher?

Have the opportunity to support incredibly vulnerable young people and genuinely transform children's lives.
Deliver creative, flexible lessons without the constraints of large class sizes.
Witness remarkable progress as pupils regain confidence and re-engage with education
Develop specialist expertise in trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation, attachment-aware teaching, and SEMH.
Work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Celebrate achievements that extend beyond academic success, helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.
