Specialist Teacher - Primary

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Start Date: ASAP (Full-time)

Contract: Fixed-term (Until Christmas 2024 initially, with potential for extension)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join our Specialist Inclusion Unit in Sheffield, working with primary-aged children who require additional support with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties. This full-time position offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young learners and is available for an immediate start on a fixed-term basis until Christmas 2024, with the possibility of extension.

About Us: Our Specialist Inclusion Unit is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential. Located in Sheffield, we work closely with primary-aged children who require additional support due to emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties. Our dedicated team of educators is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of our students and empowering them to succeed both academically and personally.

Role and Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the specific needs of primary-aged students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students develop their social and emotional skills, manage their behaviour, and engage positively with learning.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement personalised support plans for each student, monitoring progress and adjusting interventions as necessary.
Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes inclusion, respect, and understanding.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are kept informed.Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in a setting that supports those with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.
Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and evidence-based strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to promoting the social, emotional, and academic development of vulnerable learners.
