About the Role

Connex Education is working with a Academy Trust based in Derby seeking a Primary Teacher to work part or full time accross our Trust schools as a supply teacher top start on the new school year from September 2024.

This would be to cover Long-term, term-term placements.

As a supply teacher, your role is to step in for regular teachers when they are absent due to illness, professional development, or other reasons.

Your primary role is to ensure that the educational process continues smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher.

This involves:

Delivering Lessons: Supply teachers follow the lesson plans left by the regular teacher or, if plans aren't available, they may need to create their own instructional materials and activities to keep students engaged.

Maintaining Classroom Management: They enforce classroom rules and maintain discipline to ensure a conducive learning environment.

Assessing Student Progress: They may be responsible for grading assignments, tests, or homework during their tenure.

Providing Support: Supply teachers may need to offer additional help to students who require it, answer questions, and provide guidance as needed.

Ensuring Safety: They are responsible for the safety and well-being of students under their supervision, including following emergency procedures if necessary.

Communicating with School Staff: Supply teachers often need to communicate with school administrators, other teachers, and support staff to stay informed about school policies, procedures, and any specific student needs or issues.

In essence, supply teachers play a crucial role in maintaining continuity in education when regular teachers are unavailable. Their adaptability, flexibility, and ability to quickly integrate into new classroom environments are essential to their success in this role.
